It all depends on the designer and the particular item. On average a pair of designer sunglasses can cost a few hundred dollars and up. Handbags can be a bit more expensive and can cost more than $1000 depending on the size of the bag and its rarity. There are actually programs online now that let you borrow designer handbags for much less than it would cost to own them. This not only lets you carry a designer bag, but also to return it for a different borrowed bag when you get tired of the one you have.
If you want tailored haute couture you must go to the design house and work with professionals who will measure you and provide the designs you want to your specifications. While celebrities and the extremely wealthy can afford to do this, most people cannot. However that doesn't mean that the average person can't own couture. As mentioned before, sunglasses and handbags are often accessible in price. You might also want to consider buying secondhand couture apparel.
While you probably won't find couture clothes in your local thrift or secondhand store you can find it on the Internet. There are online secondhand stores that carry high end designer apparel and accessories. Ebay is another source of pre-owned designer fashions at a discount price. When buying fashion items on Ebay, deal only with sellers that have lots of positive feedback and read all the fine print as there are designer replicas out there that look like the real thing. With a little savvy searching even the average working adult can own at least one key piece of couture fashion.
